Bogota, Colombia: Calle 10 and Teatro Colón on overcast day

Bogota, Colombia – October 03, 2013: People walk past Teatro Cristóbal Colón, also called Teatro Colón, the Opera, and other buildings on Calle or Street 10, in the Andean capital city of Bogota in Colombia, South America, in La Candelaria district. It is the oldest part of the city. Down the street, some of the old houses with balconies can be seen. The Opera was built in the Neoclassical style by the Italian architect Pietro Cantini in 1885 and inaugurated on 27 October 1892. It is modelled on the layout of the Palais Garnier in Paris, but is much smaller. The sky is overcast; it will rain shortly. Photo shot in the afternoon sunlight; horizontal format.
