Bogota, Colombia – Looking down Carrera 4, at one of the Baroque Towers of the Church of Our Lady of Candelaria, in the South American capital city of Bogota in Colombia. The Church was built between 1686 and 1703 by the Augustinian Order. Down below is the narrow carrera with Spanish colonial architecture on either side. In the far background, the always present Andes Mountains; on the extreme right of the mountain is the peak known as Monserrate with the church on top. There are also some modern apartment and office towers that are visible in the background, in contrast to the colonial architecture on the right of the image. The elevation at street level is about 8500 feet above mean sea level; on top of Monserrate, is over 10,000 feet above sea level. Photo shot on an overcast afternoon; horizontal format. Copy space.
