Bogotá, Colombia – Looking uphill on on one of the narrow Streets in the historical La Candelaria district, in the South American capital city of Bogota. The image was shot on 20th of July which is National Day in Colombia; the streets are therefore not as busy as they can normally be. It is in this area that the Spanish Conquistador, Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada founded the city in 1538. The area is known for its historical colonial architecture; there are buildings in La Candelaria that go back a few humdred years. Many of the walls in the area are painted in the vibrant colours of Latin America. The elevation at street level is around 8500 feet above mean sea level. The sky is overcast: it will probably rain shortly. A few cars and people can be seen on the street. Photo shot on a cloudy morning; horizontal format. Copy space.
