Villa de Leyva, Colombia – Founded in 1572 and Located at just over 7000 feet above sea level on the Andes Mountains, Villa de Leyva was declared a National Monument in 1954 to protect it’s colonial architecture and heritage. It is located in the Department of Boyaca, in the South American country of Colombia. Photo shows Carrera 10; there is a Posada or Inn on the right and a couple of restaurants. They do not have huge signs, but smaller hangings outside indicating what is available inside. People are seen seated at the restaurant while some tourists walk down the cobblestoned street. Spanish Moss hangs from a tree in the foreground and can be seen at the top of the photo. Shot in the afternoon sunlight; horizontal format.
