Rome, Italy – Tourists at the ruins of the Basilica of Maxentius and Constantine at the Forum in the Italian capital of Rome; these arches, constructed with bricks, were the largest in the world at that time, and a tribute to Roman engineering in the days of the Empire. Construction began in 308 AD under Emperor Maxentius and was completed in 312 AD during the reign of Constantine I. Photo shot in the afternoon sunlight; vertical format.
