City of Gold
This vibrant ‘City of Merchants’ has many facets. Sometimes it is called the City of Gold, for more reasons than one. The oldest parts of the City are by the Creek. In both Deira and Bur Dubai, three is a continuous buzz of commercial activity. Every one is busy. In fact, it has been a hub of commercial activity for many hundreds of years.
Of course, new Dubai is known throughout the world today, for its modern architecture and out-of-this-world concepts. I would like to show you some views of the City that was my home for thirty three years.
Dubai is in many ways a very interesting city for photographers: whether you choose historic Al Bastakiya or the desert outide the city, Dubai Creek, the modern Dubai Marina or Downtown Dubai with the towering Burj Khalifa that can actually seen from anywhere in the City. In fact driving into Dubai, the Tower can be seen from about 90 kilometers away from the City.
