Mano is a senior Travel Professional and artist who worked in the Arabian Gulf for 35 years. For thirty-three of those years, he was based in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. As a Travel professional, he travelled extensively. His cameras always travelled with him. He now lives in the Andean capital city of Bogotá, Colombia, in South America. Basically a landscape painter at heart, his image concepts come from his perspectives of colour and depth. It is obvious he sees the world in vibrant colour. He mainly works with Stock Photography.
Choice of Medium
Until as late as 2006 his photography medium of choice was film, his trusted Leica R8 with an APO Summicron R90 f2 was his favourite camera and lens. Photos featured in these pages, therefore, are only after he went digital in 2006. He initially used a couple of Canon EOS DLSR cameras including the full-frame Canon EOS 5D MII. Some of his favourite lenses were the Canon L Lenses (24-70 f/2.8L, the 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM) and the Leica Summicron-R 90 f/2 which he used for portrait work on the Canon body with an appropriate adapter.
In August 2021, Mano moved to the Mirrorless domain of Canon cameras. He finds the Mirrorless full-frame camera a different animal altogether. The new features on the camera make for endless possibilities. Photography is a passion with Mano. Landscape, Architecture and People are his favourite genres. Animals, Sports and Events follow very closely.
