Colombia is famous for its abundant, exotic flowers. The Country is the second largest exporter of flowers in the world. In 2023, the total value of floral exports was about US $2 billion. About 80% of the exports went to the USA.
Colombia – Rich in Floral Varieties
The Country has a wide variety of flowers. From exotic orchids to beautiful geraniums to fabulous roses to flowers you’d expect to see in every handsome garden. It does indeed help that Colombia is the rainiest country in the world. Almost all the water for the lush vegetation in most parts of the country comes directly from the skies!
Flowers by the Roadside
It is common to see what would be termed in several countries as exotic growing by the roadside with no human care provided and watered entirely by rain. These could include Agopanthus, to even colourful Geraniums and Roses.
