Bogotá, Colombia – Looking down on one of the narrow streets in the historical La Candelaria district of Bogotá, the Andean capital city of the South American country of Colombia. In the background is the always present Andes Mountains. The image was shot on the 20th of July which is National Day and a holiday in Colombia; the streets are therefore not as busy as they can be. The area is popular with tourists who visit Bogota. It is in this area that the Spanish Conquistador, Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada founded the city in 1538. Many of the walls in this area are painted with street art, legends of the pre Colombian era, or just in the vibrant colours of Latin America. The sky is overcast: it will probably rain shortly. Photo shot on a cloudy morning; horizontal format. Copy space.
