Colombia - Looking across Independence Square in Zipaquirá

Zipaquirá, Colombia – Looking across the Independence Square in the Andean city of Zipaquira, in the South American country of Colombia, toward the main square. The town is located on the Eastern Range of the Andes Mountains, at an elevation of 8,690 feet above mean sea level. The present day city was established in the year 1600 AD. The architecture in the background is colonial Spanish; they house cafes and restaurants. Most windows and doors in the centre of Zipaquira are painted bright blue. behind the row of terracotta tiled buildings, the belfry of the church on the main square can be seen. A dramatic sky completes the picture. Photo shot in the afternoon sunlight; horizontal format. Copy space. © Mano Chandra Dhas
