Colombia, Zipaquirá: Looking from Independence Square towards Andean Hillside

Zipaquirá, Colombia – Looking across Independence Square in the Andean city of Zipaquira, in the South American country of Colombia towards the Andean hillside on an overcast day. The town is located on the Eastern Range of the Andes Mountains, at an elevation of 8,690 feet above mean sea level. The present day city was established in the year 1600 AD. Spanish colonial architecture and it’s influence can be seen in the image. Zipaquirá’s flag can be seen to the right; there are people and children on the square. There are restaurants and cafes all around the square. Photo shot in the afternoon sunlight; horizontal format. © Mano Chandra Dhas
