Dubai, United Arab Emirates – When the multi-million dollar Dubai Water Canal was created, it became necessary for bridges to be built on Shk Zayed Road to go over the Water Canal. Image shows the modern bridges that were constructed. A few decades ago there was only a desert road here, with sand on either side of the road. The bridge to the right carries the elevated railway track for Dubai Metro. The one to the left, carries all 8 lanes of road traffic between the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Under the bridge is a parking lot. To the right are the head offices of dnata and Emirates Holidays and an EPPCO Petrol Station. Image shot in the morning sunlight on clear day with blue skies.
